Role Overview
We are looking for a confident, knowledgeable, and people-focused HR Assistant to join our ever-growing team in London, UK. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in HR administration, recruitment support, and employee lifecycle management, with a solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Just as importantly, we are looking for someone with a great personality: a positive, warm, and approachable team player who brings good energy to the workplace and genuinely enjoys working with people. As the first point of contact for many of our employees and candidates, you will play a key role in shaping a supportive and collaborative team culture.
The role will focus on supporting day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, compliance, and employee relations, helping to ensure our HR processes run smoothly as we continue to grow across international markets.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Support the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job adverts, screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, and other onboarding documentation in line with company policies and UK employment law.
Conduct and record Right to Work checks in accordance with Home Office requirements.
Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for new starters and leavers, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases in compliance with UK GDPR.
Track and manage absence, annual leave, and sickness records.
Assist with payroll preparation by providing accurate information on new starters, leavers, and employee changes.
Support pension auto-enrolment administration and respond to employee benefits queries.
Coordinate probation reviews, performance review cycles, and training records.
Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day employee HR queries, handling all matters professionally and confidentially.
Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and help build a positive, inclusive, and motivated workplace culture.
Assist in drafting, updating, and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
Prepare HR reports and support ad hoc HR projects as required.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, or in a similar HR support role.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with the confidence to handle HR matters independently and accurately.
Experience conducting Right to Work checks and handling employee data in line with UK GDPR.
Experience using HR systems and applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse, BambooHR, Personio, Workable, or equivalent software.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or / Google Workspace.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards it) is desirable.
Experience in the healthcare sector or within an international organisation is an advantage.
Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
