This internship provides practical exposure to finance, accounting, budgeting, payroll coordination, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial planning, investment-related analysis, and business decision support.
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance & Accounting Intern who wants to understand how finance functions within a growing organization.
The intern will work with the Finance team, internal departments, stakeholders, and senior leadership/directors on real-world finance and accounting activities.
The role will provide exposure to financial planning, accounting management, salary disbursal processes, AR/AP, expense management, budgeting, investment planning, financial reporting, and cross-functional financial coordination.
This is a learning-based corporate internship designed to provide practical exposure to how financial decisions are planned, reviewed, documented, and executed within an organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & Accounting
Assist in maintaining and organizing accounting records and financial documentation.
Support day-to-day accounting activities and financial data management.
Assist in recording, categorizing, and reviewing business transactions.
Support reconciliation of financial records, invoices, payments, and expenses.
Assist in preparing periodic financial reports and management summaries.
Maintain finance trackers and supporting documentation.
Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate for resolution.
Assist with documentation required for audits, reviews, and internal controls.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Assist in tracking receivables and outstanding payments.
Maintain customer/client/student payment trackers.
Coordinate with relevant internal teams regarding pending collections.
Track payment status and prepare outstanding reports.
Support reconciliation between payment records and internal financial records.
Accounts Payable (AP)
Assist in maintaining vendor and supplier payment records.
Track invoices, bills, expenses, and payment due dates.
Coordinate with relevant departments for invoice verification and approvals.
Maintain AP trackers and payment documentation.
Support payment planning and outstanding liability tracking.
Salary & Payroll Coordination
Assist in the monthly salary disbursal process.
Coordinate with HR regarding employee attendance, joining, exit, incentives, deductions, and other payroll inputs.
Verify payroll-related data before processing.
Maintain salary and payroll trackers.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for clarification of discrepancies.
Maintain confidentiality of salary and employee financial information.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
Assist in preparing departmental and organizational budgets.
Track actual expenses against approved budgets.
Assist in preparing budget variance reports.
Monitor recurring and operational expenses.
Coordinate with departments to collect financial requirements and forecasts.
Support management in understanding planned versus actual expenditure.
Assist in preparing financial scenarios for business planning.
Investment & Business Finance Exposure
Assist stakeholders and directors with investment-related research and financial analysis.
Support evaluation of proposed investments and business opportunities.
Research investment-related expenses, expected returns, risks, and financial implications.
Maintain investment and capital allocation trackers.
Assist in preparing financial summaries for management discussions.
Support analysis of business expenditure versus potential strategic value.
Assist in tracking approved investment-related expenses and commitments.
Note: The intern will support analysis, documentation, tracking, and decision preparation. Final financial, investment, payment, and business decisions will remain with authorized management.
Expense & Cash Flow Management
Track operational and investment-related expenses.
Categorize expenses department-wise and project-wise.
Assist in monitoring cash inflows and outflows.
Support cash-flow planning and short-term financial forecasting.
Identify unusual, duplicate, or unplanned expenses for review.
Maintain expense and reimbursement records.
Assist in preparing management-level expense summaries.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with HR, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Product, Operations, and other departments for finance-related requirements.
Collect budget requirements and expenditure information from departments.
Follow up on pending approvals, invoices, payments, and financial documentation.
Support internal departments in understanding finance processes.
Maintain clear communication between finance and operational teams.
