Role Description The Vice President of Strategic Planning is a full-time, remote role responsible for shaping Elevance Health’s long-term strategic direction and growth initiatives. This role leads the development and refinement of enterprise-wide strategic plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, market dynamics, and regulatory environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing market and competitive analyses, guiding business planning cycles, and collaborating with executive leadership to prioritize strategic investments and key initiatives. The Vice President will translate complex data and insights into clear strategic recommendations, prepare executive-level presentations and reports, and facilitate cross-functional planning sessions. This role also mentors senior leaders in strategic thinking, drives performance against strategic objectives, and monitors progress to adjust plans as needed.
Qualifications
Strong strategic planning and business planning skills, with experience leading enterprise-wide planning initiatives.
Advanced analytical skills and market research capabilities to interpret data, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
Solid understanding of finance and financial modeling to evaluate business cases, investment opportunities, and ROI.
Proven leadership in complex, matrixed organizations, with the ability to influence and collaborate across executive and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing and delivering strategic recommendations to senior leadership and boards.
Significant experience in healthcare, health insurance, or related industries preferred, with a strong grasp of regulatory and market forces.
Demonstrated track record of driving organizational change, innovation, and measurable outcomes through strategic initiatives.
Advanced degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
