Role Description The Vice President of Accounting is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role leads the accounting team, manages the preparation and review of financial statements, and partners with senior leadership to support strategic planning and decision-making. Daily responsibilities include supervising the monthly close process, overseeing general ledger activities, coordinating audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Vice President of Accounting will also develop and refine accounting policies, optimize processes and systems, and collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to provide insights and guidance on financial performance. This position requires a hands-on approach to leadership, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement in a remote environment.
Qualifications
Strong Accounting and Certified Public Accounting (CPA) background, with deep knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in Finance and Financial Statements, including preparation, analysis, and interpretation for executive decision-making.
Advanced Analytical Skills for evaluating financial data, identifying trends, and developing actionable recommendations.
Extensive experience leading accounting teams, managing remote staff, and building scalable processes and controls.
Experience with modern accounting and ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and process automation.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Demonstrated experience in senior or executive accounting roles, preferably in multi-entity or fast-growing organizations.
