Quantum Global Advisory (QGA) advises energy and infrastructure clients on strategy, commercialization, asset transition, nuclear optionality, and nuclear fuel-cycle issues.
Role Description
QGA is seeking a senior, retired, or semi-retired Process Engineer with uranium-conversion or related wet-process experience for a short-term, remote consulting assignment.
The engagement will support an early-stage technical and commercial assessment of a small-scale modular wet-process uranium conversion concept designed to accommodate a broad range of uranium concentrate feeds.
The initial scope is expected to include review and challenge of the technical premise; assessment of legacy wet-process conversion flowsheets; identification of key process, equipment, safety, waste, and scale constraints; and evaluation of which elements may be suitable for modernization, modularization, or further engineering study.
This is not a full-time operating role and does not require responsibility for detailed plant design at this stage. The initial engagement is intended as a limited paid technical diligence assignment, with the possibility of additional work if the concept advances.
Preferred Experience
Direct experience with uranium conversion, uranium concentrate purification, or related nuclear fuel-cycle chemical processing
Wet-process operations, including acid digestion, solvent extraction, purification, or uranium intermediates
Experience with UO₃, UO₂, UF₄, UF₆, or associated fluorination systems
Background with Springfields/BNFL/Westinghouse, Sequoyah Fuels/Kerr-McGee, Cameco, Orano, ConverDyn, or similar fuel-cycle operations
Process simulation, mass and energy balances, process safety, HAZOP, equipment specification, or commissioning
Familiarity with Aspen, HYSYS, or comparable process-engineering tools is helpful
Retired and semi-retired engineers are especially encouraged to respond. Candidates may be based in the United States or United Kingdom; the initial engagement will be performed remotely.
