Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the firm’s technology vision and execution across internal platforms and client-facing solutions. This role oversees the design and evolution of technology stacks used by independent RIAs, including software selection, architecture, integration, and security standards. The CTO will collaborate with leadership and clients to align technology strategy with business goals, drive product development initiatives, and ensure reliable, compliant, and scalable systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing software development teams, prioritizing technology roadmaps, overseeing project delivery, coordinating with vendors, and continuously improving processes and tools that support fusion’s consulting and implementation services. The CTO is expected to mentor technical staff, establish best practices, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and Product Development, with experience delivering secure, scalable applications and platforms.
Candidates should possess experience in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing technology stacks, integration frameworks, and long-term technology roadmaps.
Candidates should possess advanced Project Management skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional technology projects from discovery through implementation.
Candidates should possess solid understanding of cloud-based systems, API integrations, data security, and compliance considerations in financial services or similar regulated industries.
Extensive experience in a senior technology leadership role (e.g., CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Technology), preferably in fintech, wealth management, or professional services.
Proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage remote teams, foster inclusive, high-performance cultures, and implement scalable processes and standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., cloud, security, PMP) are beneficial.
