Role Description The Remote Head of Finance is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization. This role includes managing financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow, and ensuring timely preparation of accurate financial statements and reports. The Head of Finance will develop and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and compliance with relevant regulations and reporting standards. Daily responsibilities include analyzing financial performance, advising senior leadership on strategic financial decisions, and collaborating with other departments to support program and real estate initiatives. The role is performed remotely, with virtual participation in leadership meetings and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Finance and Financial Reporting skills, including the ability to oversee organizational financial health and compliance.
Candidates should possess expertise in Financial Statements and Budgeting to prepare, review, and manage financial documents and annual budgets.
Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-informed decision-making.
Experience in nonprofit or civic/social organizations, particularly with real estate or community development projects, is beneficial.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams or cross-functional initiatives in a remote environment is preferred.
Proficiency with accounting software, financial modeling tools, and standard office productivity applications is advantageous.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required; a relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) or advanced degree is a plus.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
