Position Overview
The Assistant Manager - TQM will drive continuous improvement and quality excellence across all functions through structured implementation of TQM methodologies, KPI frameworks, and lean principles. This role bridges organizational quality objectives with operational execution, overseeing systems, teams, and programs that ensure compliance, efficiency, and sustainable quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities
TQM Framework & KPI Development
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for different functions to track quality and operational metrics
Design and implement frameworks for Rewards & Recognition programs for Kaizen and QCC initiatives
Coordinate Deming examination processes and requisite documentation
Training & Capability Building
Conduct training and hands-on coaching on Quality Circles (QCC) and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt projects
Facilitate and coordinate Lean Six Sigma certification programs across the company
Plan and facilitate external TQM expert consultations with plants and head office functions
Operational Implementation & Audits
Lead Daily Work Management implementation and conduct progress audits
Execute 5S implementation programs across manufacturing plants, R&D, and head office; monitor compliance through audits
Oversee TQM Steering Council Reviews and prepare executive reports on TQM progress
Quality Management & Process Optimization
Direct QMS implementation and maintenance across the production lifecycle
Identify process bottlenecks and lead initiatives to maximize efficiency and minimize waste
Spearhead Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Ensure compliance with international apparel industry standards and regulatory requirements
Design systems for production traceability and streamlined operational workflows
Leadership & Oversight
Supervise quality assurance teams and enforce quality protocols across raw materials to finished goods
Drive organizational change and build cross-functional collaboration on continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in TQM, Quality Assurance, or Operations within apparel/garment manufacturing
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Daily Work Management), Lean Six Sigma methodologies, ISO standards, and quality analysis tools (CAPA, FMEA)
Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, facilitate group training, and drive continuous improvement culture
Analytical Skills: Strong capability to interpret production data and derive actionable insights for cost reduction and quality improvement
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to collaborate across departments and influence all levels of management
