China clay consultant

Role Description This contract role for a China Clay Consultant is based in Gandhinagar and follows a hybrid work model, with a mix of on-site responsibilities and some work-from-home flexibility. The consultant will assess and advise on China clay deposits, including geological evaluation, quality testing, and suitability analysis for various industrial applications. Daily tasks include reviewing exploration data, optimizing extraction methods, and recommending processing techniques to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. The role also involves collaborating with mining engineers, geologists, and operations teams, preparing technical reports and presentations, and supporting compliance with environmental and safety standards. The consultant will provide expert guidance on market requirements, product specifications, and potential new business opportunities related to China clay.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in mineralogy and geology, with specific experience in China clay (kaolin) characterization, quality assessment, and deposit evaluation.
Proficiency in mining and processing methods relevant to clay minerals, including beneficiation, testing protocols, and production optimization.
Ability to analyze geological and laboratory data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety practices related to mining and mineral processing.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field; specialized experience with China clay is highly preferred.
Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a hybrid setup (on-site in Gandhinagar and remotely).
Previous consulting or project-based experience in the mining sector and familiarity with industrial applications of China clay (e.g., ceramics, paper, refractories) is an advantage.
