About the role
We are building a performance-focused creative team and looking for a Narrative Video Scriptwriter to turn real customer psychology into engaging 30-second to three-minute video advertisements.
You will work alongside a consumer psychologist who researches our customers’ fears, desires, beliefs, objections, and purchasing motivations. Your responsibility is to transform those insights into emotionally compelling stories that hold attention and inspire action.
This is not a general content-writing or social-media position. We are looking for someone who understands narrative structure, curiosity, conflict, emotional stakes, pacing, and natural spoken language.
Previous e-commerce experience is not required. We welcome candidates from film, YouTube, podcasts, television, documentary, and other storytelling backgrounds.
What you will do
Turn customer research and psychological insights into original advertising concepts.
Write 30-second to three-minute video scripts.
Develop hooks, characters, conflict, curiosity, emotional stakes, and satisfying resolutions.
Write natural dialogue and narration intended to be spoken and performed.
Introduce products naturally without making the story feel like a conventional advertisement.
Address customer objections through story and character.
Create multiple story concepts and hooks from the same customer insight.
Provide clear visual, performance, and editing direction.
Turn successful static advertisements into video narratives.
Rewrite and improve scripts using creative-performance results.
Develop intentional variations of winning advertisements.
Collaborate with our consumer psychologist, founder, creators, and editors.
What we are looking for
Professional experience writing scripts for video, film, television, YouTube, podcasts, trailers, branded content, or similar formats.
A portfolio demonstrating engaging narrative work.
Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, conflict, tension, escalation, and resolution.
Ability to write concise, natural spoken language.
Ability to think visually and write clear direction for editors and performers.
Comfort receiving direct feedback and producing multiple revisions.
Ability to explain the purpose behind your creative decisions.
Willingness to use audience research and performance data to improve your writing.
Ability to work quickly without sacrificing thoughtfulness or originality.
Strong written English.
Particularly relevant backgrounds
We welcome applications from:
YouTube documentary scriptwriters
Short-film or screenwriters
Narrative podcast writers and producers
Unscripted television story producers
Documentary writers
Trailer and promotional writers
Branded-content scriptwriters
Playwrights with strong visual storytelling ability
Direct-response or e-commerce experience is not required.
You may be an excellent fit if you
Can make an ordinary human experience feel emotionally important.
Know how to create curiosity without relying on dishonest clickbait.
Understand how to establish a character and conflict quickly.
Enjoy rewriting a strong idea until it becomes significantly better.
Can separate personal taste from audience response.
Are comfortable abandoning a favorite line when it does not serve the story.
Want your writing to be produced, tested, and seen by large audiences.
Enjoy collaborating with researchers, editors, and other creative professionals.
What success looks like
Within your first 90 days, you will:
Learn our customers, products, and creative-testing process.
Turn consumer research into original video concepts and scripts.
Establish an efficient working relationship with our consumer psychologist and editors.
Produce scripts that generate useful creative tests and performance learnings.
Create stronger iterations based on real audience response.
Your success will be measured by the quality of your storytelling, your ability to hold attention, the usefulness of your creative iterations, and the commercial performance of the concepts you help develop.
