Role Description The Cook will work full time on-site in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad area, preparing meals and snacks for GDG on Campus PCCoE events, workshops, and meetings. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning simple, nutritious menus; sourcing ingredients; preparing and cooking food; and ensuring timely service during events. The Cook will maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen area, follow food safety standards, and manage basic inventory of ingredients and supplies. The role may involve collaborating with organizers to design event-specific menus, accommodate dietary preferences, and help create a welcoming, community-oriented environment through food and hospitality.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including snacks and simple meals suitable for group events.
Knowledge of basic nutrition, food safety, hygiene practices, and local health regulations.
Experience in kitchen organization, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and order in cooking areas.
Strong time-management skills to coordinate meal preparation and service with event schedules.
Ability to work collaboratively with student organizers, respond to feedback, and adapt menus to dietary requirements when possible.
Good communication skills and a service-oriented attitude toward community members and guests.
Prior experience in a cafeteria, canteen, or catering environment is preferred but not mandatory.
Willingness to work on campus in Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad and support occasional extended hours during major events.
