Role Overview
The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile delivery across cross-functional teams, ensuring effective adoption of Scrum principles, Agile practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and delivery teams to drive predictable sprint execution, remove impediments, improve team performance, and enable successful delivery of business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
Drive effective sprint planning, execution, and delivery tracking.
Manage dependencies, delivery risks, assumptions, issues, and action items (RAID).
Coach teams on Agile values, Scrum principles, and continuous improvement practices.
Support Product Owners in backlog management, prioritization, and user story refinement.
Remove impediments and proactively manage blockers impacting team productivity.
Coordinate activities across development, QA, business, and stakeholder groups.
Monitor sprint progress, team capacity, velocity, and delivery metrics.
Establish transparent reporting mechanisms and provide regular delivery updates.
Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Drive release planning, stakeholder alignment, and delivery readiness activities.
Promote Agile maturity, knowledge sharing, documentation standards, and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong experience in Agile delivery and Scrum framework implementation.
Expertise in sprint planning, dependency management, and Scrum facilitation.
Experience managing RAID logs, delivery reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Strong understanding of Agile metrics, team capacity planning, and delivery tracking.
Hands-on experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Excellent facilitation, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and manage competing priorities effectively.
