Role Description The Event Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhubaneswar, responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of weddings, corporate events, conferences, and social functions. This role involves meeting clients to understand their requirements, developing event concepts and timelines, coordinating vendors, managing budgets, and ensuring all logistical needs are met. The Event Manager will supervise on-site setup, décor, hospitality, and technical arrangements, resolving issues in real time and maintaining high service standards throughout each event. Daily activities include collaborating with internal teams, negotiating with suppliers, conducting venue visits, and preparing post-event reports and feedback summaries. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events and teams under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
Strong event planning and coordination skills, including experience managing timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships.
Proficiency in client relationship management, with the ability to understand requirements, present concepts, and communicate clearly and professionally.
Operational and logistical skills for handling venue coordination, décor supervision, catering and hospitality oversight, and on-site troubleshooting.
Leadership and team management capabilities, including supervising staff, delegating tasks, and motivating teams during high-pressure event periods.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
Comfort with using basic office software and digital tools for schedules, budgets, presentations, and vendor or client communication.
Previous experience in event management, hospitality, or related fields is strongly preferred; experience with weddings and corporate events is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
Fluency in English and local languages, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
