Role Description The Area Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, India, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple gym locations in the south region. This role manages staff scheduling, performance, and training to ensure consistent service quality and adherence to brand standards. The Area Operations Manager monitors facility upkeep, member satisfaction, and safety protocols, and implements operational processes to optimize efficiency and cost control. The role also involves reviewing performance metrics, supporting local marketing initiatives, coordinating with central leadership on expansion and improvements, and handling escalated member issues. The person in this position will collaborate closely with front-of-house, trainers, and support teams to deliver a seamless, high-energy fitness experience.
Qualifications
Proven experience in multi-site operations management, preferably in fitness, hospitality, or retail environments.
Strong skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and performance management across diverse teams.
Ability to analyze operational data, manage budgets, and implement process improvements for efficiency and quality.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills to manage member experience and stakeholder relationships.
Solid understanding of health, safety, and facility management standards within a gym or similar setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Prior experience working in or around fitness or sports-based businesses is an advantage.
