Role Description The Accountant will manage the day-to-day financial activities of Durga Plastic Industries, including maintaining accurate books of accounts, preparing vouchers, and updating ledgers. Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, tracking expenses, and assisting with monthly and annual financial closing. The role also involves preparing basic financial reports, supporting budgeting activities, coordinating with internal teams and external auditors, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Muzaffarpur, requiring regular coordination with operations, procurement, and management to support informed financial decision-making.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, including ledger posting, journal entries, and bank reconciliation.
Proficiency in accounting software (such as Tally or similar tools) and familiarity with MS Excel and other office applications.
Understanding of GST, TDS, and other relevant taxation and compliance requirements for manufacturing businesses.
Ability to maintain accurate financial records, prepare simple financial statements, and support budgeting and cost tracking.
Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, procurement, and management teams.
Ability to work on-site full time in Muzaffarpur and manage responsibilities with integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; prior experience in manufacturing or industrial accounting is an advantage.
