Company Description Isro Telemetry Tracking And Command Network (ISTRAC) is a key ground segment of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), supporting satellite and launch vehicle missions through advanced telemetry, tracking, and command operations. The network operates and manages Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure that connects multiple ground stations and mission control centers. ISTRAC enables reliable data acquisition, real-time communication, and control for critical space missions. Team members contribute to high-availability systems that support national space initiatives and cutting-edge technological projects.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Linux Administrator role based in Bengaluru. The Linux Administrator will manage, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related systems supporting WAN and mission-critical operations. Daily responsibilities include monitoring system performance, ensuring high availability, applying patches and updates, performing backups, and managing user accounts and permissions. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating with network and application teams, and implementing security best practices. The Linux Administrator will also document procedures, support audits and compliance requirements, and contribute to system improvements and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Linux System Administration and general System Administration for server and infrastructure management.
Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills for diagnosing and resolving system and application issues.
Candidates should possess experience in Patch Management and maintaining system security and compliance.
Candidates should possess knowledge of networking concepts (especially WAN environments), shell scripting, and automation tools.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Candidates should possess the ability to work in high-availability, mission-critical environments with attention to detail and strong documentation practices.
Candidates should possess good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary technical teams.
