Role Description The Vice President of Engineering at Ace Ledger is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the engineering organization and driving the technical strategy that supports the company’s accounting and back-office solutions. This position oversees engineering teams, sets goals, and ensures delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software products aligned with business priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing software development lifecycles, partnering with product leadership on requirements and roadmaps, and coordinating with cross-functional teams in operations, sales, and customer success. The role also involves implementing best practices in engineering management, establishing performance metrics, mentoring leaders, and optimizing processes for reliability, efficiency, and innovation. The Vice President of Engineering will be expected to contribute to strategic planning, budget management, and long-term technology decisions that support growth and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Strong background in Engineering Management and Team Leadership, with experience building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations.
Hands-on expertise in Software Development, with the ability to guide architectural decisions and maintain technical standards.
Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management across multiple initiatives.
Experience in Product Development, collaborating closely with product and business stakeholders to define and deliver customer-centric solutions.
Demonstrated success in a senior engineering leadership role, ideally in SaaS, fintech, or professional services technology environments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote-first organization.
Proven track record of implementing engineering best practices (e.g., CI/CD, testing, security, observability) and improving team productivity.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
