Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tools Design Engineer role based in Udaipur. The Tools Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing tooling solutions, including molds, jigs, fixtures, and related components to support manufacturing operations. Day-to-day tasks include creating and refining CAD models and drawings, collaborating with production and quality teams to ensure manufacturability, and optimizing tool designs for durability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role involves reviewing product requirements, selecting appropriate materials and processes, supporting tooling trials, troubleshooting tooling issues on the shop floor, and implementing design improvements. The Tools Design Engineer will also maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in tooling and product design.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Tooling Design with experience in designing jigs, fixtures, molds, and other production tools.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for 2D drafting and 3D modeling, and ability to create detailed engineering drawings.
Knowledge of Injection Molding processes, tooling requirements, and material behavior under molding conditions.
Background in Mechanical Engineering with understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and material properties.
Experience in Product Design, including translating functional requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and standards, and apply them to tooling and product development.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in an on-site manufacturing environment.
Prior experience in a tooling, mold-making, or precision engineering environment is an advantage.
