2. About the Opportunity:
The 3PL Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of third-party logistics partners in North America. This role ensures efficient and accurate product flow from inbound shipments to final delivery, serving as the main liaison between internal operations and external logistics providers. The position is critical for maintaining vendor accountability, order accuracy, invoice verification, and driving continuous improvements within the logistics network.
3. Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day relationships with North American 3PL partners through regular meetings and onsite quarterly business reviews to maintain performance and accountability.
Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues with 3PL providers, ensuring prompt resolution.
Monitor open orders and 3PL workflows to verify dwell time accuracy.
Oversee inbound orders to ensure correct receipt, routing, and timely shipment; address exceptions proactively.
Coordinate pallet orders for inbound containers and communicate shipment details with 3PL partners.
Define, track, and report key performance metrics such as fill rate, on-time shipping, dwell time, and accuracy.
Enforce service level agreements with 3PL providers and address underperformance.
Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve order delays and logistics issues.
Provide regular updates on inventory and fulfillment status to internal stakeholders.
Review 3PL invoices for accuracy before approval and resolve billing discrepancies.
Identify operational gaps, develop standard operating procedures, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
4. Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience in logistics, fulfillment, or supply chain operations.
Direct experience managing or working with third-party logistics providers.
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
Experience with order management processes including routing, carrier selection, and exception handling.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Preferred qualifications include Spanish proficiency, a bachelor''s degree in a related field, experience with 3PL RFP processes, and contract negotiation with 3PL providers.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Pay range for this role is $85,000—$95,000 USD.
