About The Role
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join Bet365’s dynamic AI & Automation department. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and evolving the company’s critical data infrastructure. Transitioning from traditional SQL Server environments to a modern Google Cloud Platform (GCP) setup, you will play a key role in supporting regulatory compliance, automating processes, and optimizing data workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment where innovation is encouraged. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable data solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Bet365’s data capabilities. Qualifications
Proficiency in SQL Server 2014 or later, with a strong understanding of SQL query development and optimization.
Experience with the MSSQL BI Stack, including SSRS and SSIS, to support reporting and data integration needs.
Solid knowledge of T-SQL, with a focus on developing and maintaining stored procedures.
Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery and Looker, with a willingness to grow in cloud environment management.
Familiarity with version control systems such as GitLab or similar platforms for source code management.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Prior experience in data automation, cloud migration, or regulatory data projects is a plus.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of regulatory data projects, from gathering requirements to deployment, ensuring compliance and data accuracy.
Design, develop, and maintain robust T-SQL stored procedures and SSRS reports to support core business functions.
Collaborate with senior colleagues to gain hands-on experience in GCP environments, progressing towards independent cloud development.
Utilize AI-powered tools proactively to enhance development cycles and automate coding tasks, increasing efficiency.
Investigate and resolve complex data issues promptly to maintain high data integrity and minimize operational disruptions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to provide project updates, manage timelines, and ensure successful project delivery.
Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for data solutions to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
Support the migration of existing data infrastructure from SQL Server to GCP, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal downtime.
