About the Job
IDE Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to provide technical assistance and support to customers using the company's water treatment products.
The role focuses on water treatment process development, optimization, application engineering, technical problem-solving, and customer collaboration. The engineer will design and optimize treatment processes, develop preliminary process designs for water treatment applications, and provide technical solutions based on customer and project requirements.
The position also requires familiarity with environmental regulations, process calculations, membrane systems, reverse osmosis, hydraulic design, chemical dosing, and preparation of engineering documentation such as P&IDs and PFDs.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze, design, and optimize water treatment processes to meet industry requirements.
Develop improvements in product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Work closely with customers and industry partners to develop high-quality water treatment solutions.
Participate in industry events and technical meetings.
Provide technical support and resolve customer-related technical issues.
Provide feedback to support product and application improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize applications.
Monitor environmental regulations and compliance standards relevant to water treatment.
Help ensure water treatment processes meet or exceed applicable regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with vendors, partners, customers, and overseas offices.
Understand project and bid requirements related to scope, cost, and schedule.
Participate in technical decision-making and project coordination.
Develop preliminary process designs for water treatment applications, particularly membrane systems.
Select appropriate treatment processes, membranes, filters, and related equipment.
Perform process calculations, hydraulic calculations, chemical dosing calculations, pressure-drop calculations, and line sizing.
Prepare and review P&IDs and PFDs.
Perform calculations related to water chemistry, including pH, hardness, alkalinity, and chemical dosing.
Support reverse osmosis projections and membrane selection.
Stay current with advancements in water treatment technologies and share relevant knowledge within the organization.
Work independently with minimal supervision and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Understand customer requirements and customize technical solutions accordingly.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
5–8 years of experience in a similar role.
At least 5 years of experience in the water treatment field.
Proven experience designing water treatment processes.
Experience with small- and medium-scale water treatment plant process design.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance standards.
Understanding of project and bid requirements, including scope, cost, and schedule.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
