About the Programme
The IIHSE OHS Mentorship Programme is a structured, volunteer-led professional development initiative that connects early-career occupational health and safety professionals with experienced practitioners.
The programme supports professional development through one-to-one mentoring, ethical practice, knowledge sharing and structured guidance over a three-month period.
We are seeking a Volunteer Training Lead to design and deliver the programme’s mentor and mentee training sessions.
This is an unpaid, remote and flexible volunteer position. Applications are welcome from qualified professionals worldwide.
Responsibilities
The Volunteer Training Lead will be responsible for:
Preparing the training content, presentations and supporting materials for the programme.
Delivering a total of 4 online training sessions during the programme:
2 sessions for mentors
2 sessions for mentees
Providing participants with practical guidance on the principles of mentoring and coaching.
Explaining the scope, boundaries and limitations of the mentorship relationship.
Clarifying the respective roles and responsibilities of mentors and mentees.
Addressing professional boundaries, ethical communication and confidentiality within the mentoring process.
Ensuring that training content is clear, practical and consistent with the IIHSE programme framework.
Requirements
Professional experience in training, coaching, mentoring, learning and development, or a related field.
Practical knowledge of mentoring and/or coaching principles.
Experience preparing training presentations or learning materials.
Ability to deliver engaging and practical online training sessions.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Good command of English.
Ability to work independently in a remote and international environment.
Commitment to IIHSE’s ethical, confidentiality and data protection principles.
Time Commitment
The main commitment is the preparation of training materials and delivery of four online training sessions during the approximately 3-month programme period.
The role is remote, flexible and primarily task-based. There is no standing weekly meeting requirement and no expectation of continuous online availability.
