Product Manager
About H27 Technologies
H27 Technologies is currently building LinnESync, a verified-readiness platform for emergency response. Today, state and local emergency managers still coordinate the non-governmental universe of NGOs, volunteer organizations, private vendors, and community volunteers with spreadsheets, whiteboards, and sticky notes.
The Role
This is our first product hire, and the counterpart to our first engineer. You own product strategy for LinnESync: the vision, the roadmap, and where the product goes next. Our founder sets company direction and holds the government and investor relationships that open doors; you turn customer and pilot signals into a clear, prioritized backlog and, working hand in glove with our Principal Engineer, into shipped features.
You will also own how LinnESync reaches the people who need it. You turn the product into a clear story, shape the launch of each release, and make sure emergency managers, agencies, and partners understand what we have built and why it matters. You own the product’s voice in the market and the marketing that carries it.
You will balance strategic rigor with hands-on execution: you will write the spec and groom the backlog, and you will also chase down the answer that unblocks a build this week.
What You Will Do
● Own the product backlog: translate the founder's strategy and customer needs into a prioritized, well-defined set of work.
● Write clear user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria that engineering can build from without guesswork.
● Turn business needs into functional requirements, and keep requirements traceable from need to feature.
● Own day-to-day product decisions: prioritization, scope calls, and sign-off on what is ready to build.
● Own the integrated delivery timeline: you are the single point of accountability for whether the work ships, from prioritized backlog through release, with engineering owning technical execution once a requirement is locked.
● Define "done": set acceptance criteria and validate delivered features against them before release.
● Partner closely with the Principal Engineer, handing off a clear, buildable backlog and keeping a tight loop from vision to shipped feature.
● Keep a pulse on customer and user feedback, which will reach you largely through the founder's partnerships early on, and fold it into the roadmap and backlog.
● Own product design direction (UX/UI), with our design partner executing, and align our design, frontend, backend, and mobile partners on requirements so features ship consistently across web and mobile.
● Run the product tooling and documentation (Jira, Confluence, roadmap, and requirements), right-sized for an early-stage team.
● Support the founder's product strategy with structured analysis, clear options, and honest trade-offs.
● Own the AI layer strategy: define what our AI capabilities should do for emergency managers, where they sit on the roadmap, and which partners we work with. The Principal Engineer owns how they are integrated.
● Own go-to-market for each release: set the positioning, sharpen the messaging, and plan the launch so customers and partners grasp what is new and why it matters.
● Own revenue operations: pricing, packaging, and the licensing model, in consultation with the founder.
● Turn pilot results and product capabilities into case studies, website copy, and sales-ready materials the founder can carry into agency and partner conversations.
● Direct our marketing execution, including the website, SEO, social, and content, working through our marketing contractor and holding the work to a clear plan.
Your First 6 to 12 Months
● Months 1 to 2: Absorb product-owner and business-analyst responsibilities from current product owner and the departing partner team. Take ownership of the backlog, requirements, and product documentation with no loss of continuity.
● Months 3 to 6: Own the requirements and backlog that carry the MVP through our first pilots. Establish a clean, repeatable path from requirement to shipped feature with the engineer.
● Months 6 to 12: Mature the roadmap and product process, and build the loop that turns pilot learnings into the next set of features. Build the marketing motion that turns pilot wins into case studies and demand, and set a light, repeatable launch for each release.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
● 7+ years of product management experience shipping software products, ideally B2G, B2B, or SaaS.
● Strong requirements and business-analysis skills. You write clear user stories, functional specs, and acceptance criteria that engineers build from without ambiguity.
● Proven ability to own and maintain a medium-to-large requirements set for an enterprise-class SaaS product, keeping it organized, consistent, and traceable at scale.
● A track record of owning a backlog and making prioritization and scope decisions.
● Enough technical fluency to reason about APIs, data, and trade-offs, and to write specs an engineer can run with.
● Proven experience delivering product solutions in the AI space, from framing the use case to shipping a feature users trust.
● Fluency with product and delivery tools (Jira, Confluence, or equivalents).
● The ability to turn a high-level strategy or a raw customer need into a concrete, buildable plan.
● Comfort in an early-stage, low-structure environment. You balance rigor with hands-on execution, and ambiguity energizes you.
● Experience owning product marketing or go-to-market for a product, including positioning, messaging, and launch, not only the backlog.
● Legal authorization to work in the United States. We are not sponsoring visas at this time.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience as product hire at an early-stage startup.
● A background as a business analyst or product owner, before or alongside product management.
● Domain experience in public safety, emergency management, GovTech, or another mission-critical or regulated field.
● Familiarity with state or federal cloud authorization programs such as TX-RAMP, GovRAMP (formerly StateRAMP), or FedRAMP, and with writing requirements that carry the evidence a security review will ask for.
● Experience with government or public-sector customers and their procurement.
● Familiarity with mobile and web products, real-time systems, or mapping and GIS.
● Experience standing up product process (backlog, roadmap, requirements) where none existed.
● Go-to-market experience selling to government or the public sector, including how agencies evaluate and buy.
● Comfort directing marketing execution, such as website, SEO, social, and content, or the contractor who runs it.
