Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager / Architectural Consultant to lead architectural design development, project coordination, technical delivery, design quality, and client engagement across a range of building and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead architectural design development, design coordination, and project delivery from concept through construction.
Develop and manage design concepts, design briefs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, engineers, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure design objectives are achieved.
Manage design programmes, project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and quality standards.
Review and coordinate architectural drawings, technical details, materials, finishes, and construction documentation.
Provide architectural advice on design feasibility, functionality, planning requirements, technical solutions, and project risks.
Lead design reviews, consultant coordination meetings, site inspections, and technical discussions.
Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, planning regulations, authority requirements, accessibility standards, and project specifications.
Work closely with structural, MEP, landscape, interior, engineering, and specialist consultants to resolve design and technical issues.
Support tendering, procurement, value engineering, construction administration, and project handover activities.
Identify opportunities to improve design quality, project efficiency, cost effectiveness, sustainability, and constructability.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, project stakeholders, authorities, and professional consultants.
Mentor and support architectural designers, junior architects, and project team members.
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Architecture, Architectural Design, Building Design, or a related field.
Professional architectural qualification or registration is preferred, where applicable.
Proven experience in architectural design, design management, architectural consultancy, project delivery, or a related senior role.
Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction methods, building materials, technical documentation, and project coordination.
Strong understanding of building codes, planning regulations, authority submissions, construction standards, and industry practices.
Strong design, technical, analytical, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant architectural and design software.
Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, engineers, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Experience across commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, retail, institutional, or large-scale development projects is preferred.
Proven track record of delivering projects to required design quality, timeline, budget, technical, and compliance standards.
