Automation Engineer

Role Description The Automation Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Salem. In this role, the Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation systems, including configuring hardware and software for process control and robotics. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving automation-related issues, optimizing control logic, collaborating with electrical and mechanical teams, and ensuring systems run safely and efficiently. The Automation Engineer will support commissioning of new equipment, document configurations and procedures, and participate in preventive maintenance activities. The role also involves working closely with operations and quality teams to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Automation and Process Control skills to design, configure, and optimize automated systems.
Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills to interpret schematics, work with control panels, and integrate sensors and actuators.
Candidates should possess Robotics skills to program, troubleshoot, and maintain robotic cells and related motion control systems.
Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in automation environments.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, industrial communication protocols, and safety standards is highly beneficial.
Ability to read technical documentation, create clear reports, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to work on-site in a production or industrial setting.
