Role Description This is a full-time, on-site MERN stack internship role based in Hyderabad, designed primarily for students from IITs and NITs who are interested in building real-world products in the clean energy space. Interns will work on developing and maintaining web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js, contributing to both front-end interfaces and back-end APIs. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, debugging and optimizing existing code, integrating third-party services, and collaborating with product and design teams to improve user experience. Interns will participate in code reviews, write technical documentation, and support the deployment and monitoring of applications. The role offers exposure to a fast-moving startup environment and the opportunity to contribute directly to RENGY’s solar marketplace platform.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in JavaScript and modern web development, including experience with React, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
Skills in front-end development such as HTML, CSS, responsive design, and basic state management (e.g., React hooks or similar patterns).
Understanding of back-end concepts including RESTful APIs, data modeling, authentication/authorization, and integration with databases.
Familiarity with version control (Git), basic DevOps practices (deployment, debugging), and working with APIs or third-party integrations.
Currently enrolled in an IIT or NIT program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
Ability to learn quickly, write clean and maintainable code, and collaborate effectively in a startup environment.
Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
Interest in clean energy, climate tech, or marketplace platforms is a plus; prior internship or project experience with MERN stack is highly beneficial.
