Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Azure Cloud Architect to work with our technical and project teams on a large enterprise Azure migration program. The engagement involves migration of a multi-site enterprise infrastructure from on-premise datacenters to Microsoft Azure. The consultant will provide architecture leadership, validate the migration strategy, guide the implementation team and participate in technical discussions with customer stakeholders.
This is an architecture and advisory role rather than an Azure administration role.
Key Responsibilities
Design and validate the Azure Landing Zone and target architecture.
Define networking, ExpressRoute, Entra ID, RBAC, Policy, security and monitoring architecture.
Guide workload assessment, right-sizing and migration-wave planning.
Advise on Azure Migrate / ASR based migration approach.
Evaluate rehost, replatform, rebuild and retire decisions.
Guide SQL Server to Azure SQL MI and file-share to Azure Files migration where applicable.
Define approach for legacy Windows workloads, DR, backup and business continuity.
Review Terraform/Bicep-based IaC, migration runbooks and implementation plans.
Participate in client workshops and provide architecture guidance to the delivery team.
Preferred Profile
12+ years overall IT / infrastructure experience.
6+ years strong Microsoft Azure experience.
Proven experience architecting enterprise Azure migrations, preferably 100+ servers.
Strong knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, networking, security, identity, governance and migration tooling.
Good understanding of Terraform/Bicep, Azure Migrate, ASR, Azure Monitor and Defender.
Strong client-facing communication and architecture documentation skills.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) preferred.
We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on enterprise Azure architecture and migration experience, rather than primarily Azure administration/support experience.
