Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for an IT Systems Administrator. The IT Systems Administrator will manage and maintain servers, networks, and core IT infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and optimal performance. Daily tasks include monitoring system health, applying updates and patches, managing user accounts and permissions, and responding to technical incidents and service requests. The role involves diagnosing and resolving system and network issues, coordinating with other technical stakeholders when needed, and documenting configurations, procedures, and changes. The IT Systems Administrator will also contribute to improving security practices, backup and recovery processes, and overall IT operations in collaboration with the wider technology team.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including server management and user account administration.
Candidates should possess Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
Candidates should possess Information Technology knowledge, covering operating systems, cloud or virtualization concepts, and basic scripting.
Candidates should possess Network Security skills, including familiarity with firewalls, access controls, and security best practices.
Relevant experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration, ideally in remote or distributed environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively in a part-time schedule, and collaborate virtually with diverse teams.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Linux) or equivalent practical experience are advantageous.
