Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Technical Architect with strong expertise in Salesforce Industries / Communications Cloud (Vlocity) and telecommunications solutions.
The successful candidate will own end-to-end technical architecture, provide implementation guidance, establish technical standards, conduct design and code reviews, and mentor distributed delivery teams.
The role requires deep experience in translating telecom business processes such as Order-to-Activate, Product Catalog, Provisioning, Fulfilment, and Network Activation into scalable Salesforce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Industries & Communications Cloud Architecture
Own end-to-end technical architecture for Salesforce Industries and Communications Cloud implementations.
Lead architecture activities from discovery and solution design through implementation and delivery.
Design and govern:
Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC)
Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ)
Communications Order Management (COM)
Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)
Translate telecommunications business requirements into scalable Salesforce architecture, technical designs, and estimates.
OmniStudio Architecture
Design and govern production-scale OmniStudio solutions, including:
OmniScripts
FlexCards
DataRaptors
Integration Procedures
Define orchestration, integration, and data-layer strategies.
Establish reusable patterns, technical standards, and development guidelines.
Integration & Telecom Systems
Define integration architecture across MuleSoft or equivalent integration platforms.
Design REST, SOAP, API-led, and event-driven integrations.
Apply TM Forum Open APIs where appropriate.
Architect integrations with:
OSS/BSS platforms
Inventory systems
Provisioning systems
Network activation platforms
Fulfilment systems
Support end-to-end telecom fulfilment and provisioning journeys.
Salesforce Platform Architecture
Provide technical guidance on:
Apex
Lightning Web Components
Salesforce data modelling
Governor limits
Security and sharing
Integration patterns
Enterprise scalability
Define Salesforce security, data, DevOps, and deployment strategies.
Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, and architecture governance.
Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
Conduct technical discovery sessions with client architects and engineering leads.
Collaborate with distributed, onshore, and offshore delivery teams.
Mentor developers and support technical capability development.
Provide technical assurance and resolve complex architectural challenges.
Support pre-sales and solutioning activities, including:
Architecture proposals
Effort estimation
Solution shaping
Technical presentations
Delivery assurance
Mandatory Requirements
10+ years of Salesforce delivery experience.
Significant experience as a Salesforce Technical Architect on Salesforce Industries / Communications Cloud / Vlocity programs.
Deep hands-on expertise in OmniStudio and production-scale implementations.
Strong telecommunications domain knowledge, including:
OSS/BSS
Order Management
Order-to-Activate
Provisioning and Activation
Product Catalog / EPC
Fulfilment
Strong experience with MuleSoft or equivalent integration platforms.
Expertise in REST, SOAP, API-led, and event-driven integration patterns.
Working knowledge of TM Forum frameworks, including:
SID
eTOM
TM Forum Open APIs
Strong Salesforce platform knowledge covering:
Apex
Lightning Web Components
Data Modelling
Governor Limits
Security
Integration Architecture
Experience leading distributed or offshore technical teams.
Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and architecture-governance skills.
Mandatory Certifications
Communications Cloud Accredited Professional
OmniStudio Developer or OmniStudio Consultant
Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect
CTA certification or active pursuit of CTA certification is a strong advantage.
Good to Have
MuleSoft Integration Architect or MuleSoft Developer certification.
Experience Cloud architecture.
Salesforce Field Service architecture.
Salesforce Data Cloud and Agentforce exposure.
Understanding of applying agentic AI to Salesforce Industries platforms.
Multi-org architecture experience.
Legacy-to-Lightning reimplementation experience.
Experience delivering UK full-fibre / FTTP telecommunications solutions.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
Strong hands-on architecture experience rather than purely managerial exposure.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Salesforce Industries solutions.
Deep understanding of telecom business processes and OSS/BSS ecosystems.
Experience working with globally distributed delivery teams.
Ability to guide technical decisions, mentor teams, and engage with client stakeholders.
