Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Snowflake Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Advanced SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, and data pipeline development.
Recent hands-on experience in the Mortgage domain is mandatory. Candidates must have worked with mortgage loan origination or loan servicing data in a recent project.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing and developing scalable data pipelines, transforming complex datasets, integrating multiple data sources, and supporting production-grade data engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and modern data engineering technologies.
Develop complex SQL queries, transformations, stored procedures, and data models.
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for large and complex datasets.
Develop Python-based data processing and automation solutions.
Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and integration.
Design efficient data workflows for Snowflake-based data platforms.
Work with structured and semi-structured data.
Develop reliable and reusable data engineering frameworks.
Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data quality issues, and production defects.
Optimize SQL queries and Snowflake workloads for performance and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, developers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Support data reporting and downstream analytics requirements.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and availability across pipelines.
Participate in production support, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
Mandatory Technical Skills
Snowflake
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
Snowflake data warehousing and architecture.
Experience with Snowflake data loading and transformation.
Query optimization and performance tuning.
Experience working with large datasets.
SQL
Advanced SQL skills are mandatory.
Complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and optimization.
Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
Python
Strong hands-on experience with Python.
Experience using Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.
ETL / ELT
Strong experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
Data extraction, transformation, validation, and integration.
Experience handling large-scale data processing requirements.
Data Engineering
Strong understanding of data pipeline architecture.
Data transformation and integration.
Data modeling and data quality.
Production-grade pipeline development and support.
Experience working with complex enterprise datasets.
🚨 Mandatory Mortgage Domain Experience
Recent hands-on Mortgage domain experience is mandatory.
Candidates must have recent project experience working with Mortgage data, preferably in one or more of the following areas:
Loan Origination
Loan Servicing
Mortgage Payments
Escrow
Underwriting
Loan-level data
Mortgage servicing data
Mortgage transaction data
Mortgage reporting / analytics
Candidates without recent hands-on Mortgage domain experience will not be considered.
Good to Have
Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Mortgage payments and servicing systems.
Escrow and underwriting data.
Experience with data reporting and analytics.
Experience with modern data warehouse / lakehouse environments.
Experience supporting production data pipelines.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
12+ years of overall IT / Data Engineering experience.
Strong recent experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
Strong hands-on Snowflake + Advanced SQL + Python expertise.
Recent and demonstrable Mortgage domain experience.
Experience working with Loan Origination or Loan Servicing data.
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT and data pipeline architecture.
Ability to work independently on complex data engineering requirements.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work in a complete US shift.
