Role Description The Senior Project Director is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading complex actuarial and consulting projects from initiation through delivery. This role oversees project planning, scope definition, resource allocation, timelines, and budgeting, while ensuring work quality and adherence to professional standards. The Senior Project Director collaborates closely with actuaries, analysts, and other experts to design methodologies, review technical work, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for clients. Day-to-day activities include managing client communications, facilitating meetings, preparing and reviewing reports and presentations, and proactively addressing project risks and issues. The role also involves mentoring team members, contributing to business development efforts, and supporting the continuous improvement of internal processes and tools.
Qualifications
Demonstrated project leadership skills, including project planning, execution oversight, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Strong background in actuarial science, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field, with the ability to review and guide complex analytical work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing client-ready reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
Proven client management capabilities, such as building long-term relationships, understanding business needs, and delivering practical, results-oriented solutions.
Experience mentoring and supervising multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
Advanced proficiency with data analysis tools and office productivity software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with actuarial or statistical software is beneficial.
Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment, ideally with responsibility for multiple concurrent projects.
Relevant professional credentials (e.g., FSA, ASA, MAAA, PhD, or equivalent) or substantial experience in actuarial, statistical, or economic analysis preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, manage time independently, and coordinate virtual teams across projects.
