Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Software Engineer role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work from home. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that power Ecobillz’s SaaS platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, troubleshooting and resolving software defects, optimizing performance, and writing clean, maintainable, and testable code. The role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architecture and technical documentation. The Software Engineer will also help improve development tools and processes to ensure reliability, scalability, and security of the platform.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming using modern languages and frameworks relevant to back-end systems.
Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with databases and third-party services.
Applied knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns for building modular, reusable, and scalable code.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and take ownership of end-to-end solutions.
