About the Opportunity:
The STAFF DATA SYSTEMS ARCHITECT will lead the design and maintenance of the end-to-end product data stack systems. This role is responsible for developing the systems architecture roadmap and coordinating across multiple teams to ensure data integration, compliance, and efficiency. The position directly impacts the reliability and effectiveness of data systems supporting the organization's products and user data management.
Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end design of the product data stack systems
Develop and maintain the systems architecture roadmap
Coordinate contributions from data engineering, business intelligence, product analytics, and backend teams
Define and enforce data movement and standardization practices
Lead architecture reviews and vendor evaluations for new tools
Contribute to compliance architecture for user data, including PII tagging and deletion policies
Administer data stack access and licensing, managing spend and access visibility
Document and promote architecture decisions, standards, and ownership across teams
Requirements:
8 to 12+ years in systems design, architecture, or engineering, with 3 to 5 years at the architect/staff level focused on data platform architecture
Experience architecting integrations for customer data stacks including analytics, experimentation, attribution, and marketing tools
Proficiency with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, including performance tuning and access control
Experience leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including PII handling and data subject request workflows
Ability to define and enforce architecture standards through automation
Cost-conscious management of infrastructure and vendor spending
Proven leadership in driving architecture decisions across teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with semantic and metrics layers via dbt or similar tools
Familiarity with data cataloging/governance tools and metadata stewardship
Background in high-velocity experimentation organizations
Advanced SQL skills
Experience in consumer-facing subscription applications
Knowledge of making governed data available safely to AI systems
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $160,000 to $220,000, with actual compensation based on skills, qualifications, and experience
