THE ROLE
As Chief Technology Officer of ValPay, you will take ownership of the technology organization and partner closely with the CEO to shape the company's next phase of growth. ValPay's engineering and product teams have grown quickly. The opportunity now is to bring structure, leadership, and a clear operating rhythm to a talented but still lean team — while keeping the speed and hands-on energy that got the business here.
You will build out the technology leadership bench and put in place the processes, culture, and cross-functional partnership needed to continue to scale ValPay into a leading fintech platform. This is a high-impact opportunity for a builder and a leader: someone energized by the challenge of professionalizing a fast-moving organization, who leads from the front, and who is excited to build a strong team and a strong culture from the ground up.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own the technology vision and strategy for ValPay, partnering closely with the CEO and executive team on company-wide, cross-functional decision-making.
Build out the technology leadership team and establish a durable management structure beneath them.
Bring structure, process, and operating discipline to the engineering and product organizations, without slowing down the team's ability to move quickly.
Oversee the technology portfolio across engineering, security and compliance, and DevOps, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Own the strategic technical relationship with core payments partners (Adyen, Fiserv), serving as the primary escalation point for complex integration issues and ensuring the partnership roadmap stays aligned with ValPay's product strategy.
Drive AI adoption and enablement across ValPay, identifying opportunities to improve ROI.
Act as a company-wide strategic thought partner, helping divisions beyond engineering understand how their work fits into ValPay's broader goals.
Partner with go-to-market and customer-facing teams on payments integrations, technical strategy conversations, and product direction.
Ensure systems, infrastructure, and technical processes are scalable and well-documented to support sustainable, long-term growth.
Serve as a steady, composed presence during incidents and high-pressure moments, and build the organizational muscle for the team to manage these situations independently over time.
NICE TO HAVE
Payments and/or fintech experience.
Proven experience building, structuring, and scaling technology organizations, ideally in high-growth environments.
A track record of hiring and developing senior technology leaders (e.g. VP Engineering, VP Product) and building durable management structures.
Strong technical breadth across engineering, security and compliance, and DevOps.
Deep technical expertise. The specific domain matters less than the calibre — you should be recognized as exceptional within whatever technical discipline you built your career in.
A strong communicator who partners well cross-functionally and can translate technology strategy into business terms for the wider organization.
Highly organized and structured, with a real appetite for bringing order, process, and clarity to a company that moves quickly.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In the first six to twelve months:
A technology leadership team is in place, with clear ownership and a durable management structure beneath it.
Engineering and product run on an operating rhythm people can rely on — planning, delivery, and escalation paths that hold up — without losing the speed the business is used to.
The Adyen and Fiserv relationships sit on a roadmap aligned with ValPay's product strategy, with complex integration issues resolved at your level.
AI adoption is underway where it measurably improves ROI, with the first use cases live rather than theoretical.
Incidents are handled calmly and increasingly without you, as the team builds the muscle to manage them on its own.
WHY VALPAY
Founded in 2022, ValPay is already operating at scale: a PCI DSS Level 1 certified platform running across 40+ jurisdictions in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, serving vertical software platforms in dental, marine, property management, automotive, and more.
Growth runs on three engines, and all three run on the same platform:
Internal sales — converting existing Valsoft GMV to ValPay, a $15B+ opportunity across the current customer base plus every new Valsoft acquisition.
External ISV channel — signing ISVs outside the Valsoft portfolio, $25M–$50M in revenue, with $2B+ in deals already closed and now being converted into live, processing merchants.
M&A engine — acquiring payment gateway businesses, two closed so far, with the same conversion playbook applied to each newly acquired asset.

CE QUE VOUS FEREZ
Assumer la vision et la stratégie technologiques de ValPay, en collaborant étroitement avec le chef de la direction et l'équipe de direction sur la prise de décisions interfonctionnelles à l'échelle de l'entreprise.
Constituer l'équipe de leadership technologique et mettre en place une structure de gestion durable sous celle-ci.
Apporter de la structure, des processus et une discipline opérationnelle aux organisations d'ingénierie et de produit, sans ralentir la capacité de l'équipe à avancer rapidement.
Superviser le portefeuille technologique dans les domaines de l'ingénierie, de la sécurité et de la conformité ainsi que du DevOps, en assurant l'alignement avec les objectifs de l'entreprise.
Assumer la relation technique stratégique avec les principaux partenaires de paiement (Adyen, Fiserv), en agissant comme point d'escalade principal pour les problèmes d'intégration complexes et en veillant à ce que la feuille de route du partenariat demeure alignée sur la stratégie de produit de ValPay.
