About the Role
We are looking for a Senior BI & Data Analyst to join our Enterprise Data & Analytics team. This role focuses on data analysis, SQL, data validation, business analysis, requirements gathering, and UAT, helping business and technology teams turn complex data into actionable insights.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience analyzing data and understanding business processes. This is not a dashboard-focused BI role. Candidates whose background is primarily Power BI/Tableau dashboard development or reporting will not be a strong fit.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze complex datasets using SQL to identify trends, issues, and business insights.
Perform data profiling, data mining, data validation, and data quality testing.
Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into user stories and functional requirements.
Analyze and document business processes, business rules, data flows, and system workflows.
Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and stakeholders.
Conduct deep-dive and ad-hoc data analysis to solve business problems.
Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver data and analytics solutions.
Validate data and ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
Create business flow diagrams and data flow diagrams where required.
Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience with complex SQL queries and data analysis
5+ years of experience in Data Analysis / Business Systems Analysis
Strong experience in data profiling, mining, validation, and testing
5+ years of experience managing UAT cycles and working with business stakeholders
Strong requirements gathering and user story writing skills
Experience analyzing business processes and data flows
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or MicroStrategy is a plus
Important Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates whose primary experience is in:
SQL + Data Analysis + Business Analysis + Data Validation + UAT
Candidates whose majority of experience is in:
Power BI / Tableau + Dashboard Development + Reporting / Visualization
will not be considered a strong fit, as the BI-focused work for this team is expected to become more prominent later.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
Master's degree is an asset
Experience in Life Sciences / Biotechnology is a plus
