Role Description This full-time remote role of Consultant PL/SQL focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing PL/SQL solutions in support of business intelligence and digital strategy projects for German-speaking clients. The consultant collaborates with project managers, data engineers, and business analysts to understand requirements, translate them into robust database logic, and ensure high performance and reliability of data flows. Daily activities include writing and maintaining complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, and packages, performing code reviews, debugging and resolving production issues, and optimizing queries and database structures. The role also involves preparing technical documentation, contributing to solution architecture discussions, and participating in remote meetings with stakeholders in German and English. The consultant is expected to follow best practices in coding standards, testing, and deployment, while proactively suggesting improvements to data processes and project delivery.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in PL/SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and performance tuning.
Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle or similar), SQL optimization, and data modeling concepts.
Experience working on nearshoring or distributed teams, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
Professional proficiency in German at a minimum B2 level, with clear written and spoken communication; good command of English is also required.
Background in business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytics projects within BI, AI, or digital transformation contexts is beneficial.
Ability to analyze functional requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and produce high-quality, maintainable code.
Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, unit testing, and documentation standards.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a structured approach to troubleshooting complex data and performance issues.
Comfort working across cultures and time zones, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
