Electrical Draftsperson – EV Fast Chargers

Job Overview
Seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Electrical Draftsperson to join R&D and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining high-precision electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for high-power EV DC Fast Chargers (60 kW, 120 kW, 180 kW, and 240 kW). You will work directly with electrical and hardware design engineers to convert complex power electronic concepts into production-ready drawings, supporting both new product development and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Schematic Design: Prepare detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), power routing layouts, and control circuit wiring diagrams for 60 kW to 240 kW DC fast chargers.
Cable & Harness Layouts: Generate comprehensive wire harness assembly drawings, pinout tables, terminal strip layouts, and cable schedules for AC input, high-power DC output, signal/communication lines, and auxiliary power circuits.
Drawing Revision & Change Management: Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) promptly by updating existing drawings, managing version control, and maintaining accurate drawing repositories.
BOM & Documentation Support: Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), component lists, and labeling schedules corresponding to drafting packages for procurement and shop-floor assembly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with R&D electrical engineers, panel builders, and production teams to resolve wiring inconsistencies, refine wire routing, and adapt designs for manufacturability (DFM).
Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawing formats, electrical symbols, wire sizing notations, and layout practices conform to relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL, and local electrical codes).
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), or a related technical discipline with specialized CAD training.
Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical drafting and wiring design, preferably in EV charging systems, power electronics, switchboards, industrial control panels, or high-voltage automation.
Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN Electric P8, or SolidWorks Electrical).
Technical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of high-power DC systems, power modules, contactors, circuit breakers, fuses, current transformers, and PLCs/controllers.
Familiarity with wire gauge selection, insulation ratings, busbar sizing, and high-voltage safety clearances.
Ability to read and interpret complex electrical engineering sketches and mechanical enclosure layouts.
Attention to Detail: Excellent precision in labeling, component tagging, cross-referencing, and schematic formatting.
