Senior Software Engineer

Arka Innovate is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – PLM Platform to join a U.S.-based engineering team supporting a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform.
This is a hands-on Senior Individual Contributor role focused on building and supporting the technical layer around PLM. The engineer will develop backend services, enterprise integrations, automation, and custom extensions connecting PLM with ERP, analytics, ECAD, and other downstream enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate is a production-minded backend engineer who can take ownership of solutions end-to-end—from architecture and development through CI/CD, Kubernetes deployment, observability, troubleshooting, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable backend services and enterprise integrations.
Build custom extensions and services around PLM and related engineering platforms.
Develop integrations between PLM, ERP, analytics, ECAD, and other enterprise systems.
Design and implement robust REST APIs and integration services.
Implement reliable API communication patterns, including pagination, retries, idempotency, error handling, and partial-failure recovery.
Develop secure authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC).
Design relational and document-oriented data models based on application and integration requirements.
Build and maintain cloud-native applications, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
Containerize applications and deploy/manage workloads using Kubernetes.
Troubleshoot application, container, networking, deployment, and production issues in Kubernetes environments.
Own CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or comparable technologies.
Implement automated unit, integration, and functional testing.
Establish production telemetry, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Participate in production support and root-cause analysis.
Create technical design documents, runbooks, operational documentation, and engineering standards.
Apply software engineering best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code, and maintainable architecture.
Contribute to modernization of legacy applications while maintaining production stability.
Collaborate with architects, product teams, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools effectively for software development, debugging, testing, code analysis, and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
11+ years of professional experience building and supporting production-grade backend software.
Strong experience with modern backend application development.
Strong C#/.NET development experience preferred.
Strong Java, Go, or Kotlin candidates may also be considered if they are willing and able to transition to C#/.NET.
Hands-on experience with cloud-native development and deployment.
Strong Microsoft Azure experience preferred; AWS or GCP experience is acceptable.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including real-world production troubleshooting.
Strong experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
Understanding of API reliability patterns including:
Pagination
Retries
Idempotency
Error handling
Partial-failure handling
Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OIDC.
Experience with relational databases and document-oriented data stores.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.
Experience with one or more of:
Terraform
Bicep
ARM templates
Azure DevOps Pipelines
Comparable CI/CD and infrastructure automation tools
Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and SOLID.
Experience with automated testing.
Strong troubleshooting and production-support skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PLM, PDM, ERP, CAD, ECAD, or engineering systems.
PTC Windchill experience is highly desirable.
Experience with event-driven and message-based architectures.
