Role Description The Chief Data Architect is a full-time remote role responsible for defining and leading the overall data architecture strategy across the organization. This position designs enterprise data models, oversees data warehousing and ETL frameworks, and ensures that data platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with engineering, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions, setting data standards and governance policies, and guiding the implementation of best practices for data quality and integration. The Chief Data Architect also mentors technical staff, evaluates new tools and technologies, and provides architectural oversight for key data initiatives and cloud-based projects.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in enterprise Data Architecture and Data Modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing and Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools.
Demonstrated expertise in Data Governance, including data quality, metadata management, and compliance standards.
Extensive experience designing data solutions in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and working with modern data platforms and databases.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and make strategic architectural decisions.
Proven leadership experience guiding data engineering or architecture teams and driving enterprise-scale data initiatives.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in performance optimization, security best practices, and integration of analytics and BI tools is highly beneficial.
