About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We’re partnering with a growing consumer technology company to hire a Director of Product Management to help lead the next stage of growth across its consumer product.
This is a high-impact player-coach role for a senior product leader who wants meaningful ownership and enjoys staying close to the work. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership to shape product strategy, prioritize across multiple consumer products and revenue opportunities, and drive growth across the customer journey while leading a small team of Product Managers.
The ideal person is an experienced consumer product leader who has worked in product-led growth environments, understands experimentation and analytics, and has a track record of building and growing products in startup environments. You should be comfortable setting strategy while still writing PRDs, working with data, partnering closely with Engineering and Design, and helping the team move quickly.
Location: Remote within the US.
What you'll do
Own consumer growth strategy and the 12-month roadmap across acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion
Drive self-serve growth through experimentation, analytics, and a disciplined test-and-learn cadence
Stay hands-on with the data, including funnel analysis and SQL, to turn insights into product decisions
Lead and coach 2–3 Product Managers, raising the bar for product thinking, execution, and decision-making
Set ambitious goals, create urgency, and push the business and Engineering teams to deliver meaningful results
Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Data to identify and ship high-impact growth opportunities
Must-Have Skills:
Significant experience building and scaling consumer products in high-growth organizations.
Demonstrated success shipping consumer products with multiple revenue streams and improving measurable funnel performance.
Proven ownership of acquisition, activation, retention, expansion, or other full-funnel growth initiatives.
Strong SQL, analytics, experimentation, and data-driven product decision-making skills.
Experience leading, mentoring, and developing Product Managers.
Strong product judgment, prototyping ability, and a high bar for consumer product quality.
Technical fluency with consumer technology stacks and experimentation infrastructure.
Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to structure complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Ability to work standard continental US hours while working remotely.
What we're looking for
Experienced building and scaling consumer products in high-growth, startup environments, with increasing scope and responsibility across multiple companies
Proven experience in a product-led growth (PLG) environment, owning and improving the full funnel across acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion
Experience building and growing consumer products with multiple revenue streams, and the ability to think across a portfolio of products and business opportunities rather than a single product area
Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong SQL skills and experience designing, running, and evaluating experiments
Strong product craft and judgment, with a high bar for customer experience, quality, and execution
Hands-on player-coach who still enjoys doing the work, not just managing a team or operating at a high strategic level
Experienced people leader who has directly managed and coached PMs, handled performance management, and knows how to raise the bar on a team
Ambitious, proactive, and driven, with a track record of setting aggressive goals and creating urgency across Product and Engineering
Extremely strong written and verbal communicator who can make complex ideas clear and actionable
Technically fluent and comfortable working closely with Engineering, analytics, and experimentation infrastructure in a resource-constrained environment
Extremely AI fluent in day-to-day product work; experience building AI-powered consumer products, including agentic workflows or orchestration, is a strong plus
Travel, loyalty, rewards, or consumer fintech experience is a plus, but not required
