2027 COOP Program, Operations

As an AbbVie COOP, the student participates in a paid program that is focused on providing students with robust projects and with the opportunity to work with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. As an COOP, the student will be located at one of our Operations sites at Barceloneta. AbbVie’s worldwide business offers an opportunity for a variety of potential work experiences that are aligned to a variety of functional areas, including (but not limited to):
- Manufacturing
- Engineering
- Quality
- Central Services – Facilities Engineering
Responsibilities:
Perform various projects as assigned.
Participate in social/networking and learning & development activities.
Willingness to do meaningful work that has a real impact on our business and patients worldwide.
Present to the staff leaders, managers, and mentors the achievements of the assigned projects as well as the main learnings gained during the program.
Provide assistance to operations in accordance with environmental management, occupational health and safety (EH&S) systems and promote continuous improvement. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties.
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate level program at an accredited university, in any of the following fields: Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
Strong academic performance. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (4.0 Scale) and extra-curricular achievements.
Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills (English and Spanish).
Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative and integrity.
Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.
Must be available to work for a full semester from January to May 2027.
For Student COOP:
- Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate level studies prior to internship experience.
- Must be enrolled in university the semester following the internship (return to university for at least 1 semester post-internship).
-Previous exposure to industry projects, university research or extracurricular activities is highly desired.
