Pride Health is hiring an Inpatient Coding Educator (Remote) to support our client's healthcare facility in Phoenix, AZ.
Job Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Flexible Hours (We are located in AZ, so sometimes they will have to flex their hours if they are in a different state).
Location: Fully Remote (candidates must reside in an approved U.S. state: AL, AZ, FL, GA, IA, KS, KY, MI, MS, MO, NV, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, or WI)
Float / Coverage Area:
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks Contract (TEMP TO PERM)
Pay Range: $40.00 to $45.00/hour*
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Duties:
Provide inpatient coding training, education, and mentoring to coding and CDI teams.
Develop and deliver virtual and/or onsite training programs and materials.
Conduct coding quality chart reviews and audits according to ICD-10, CMS, regulatory, and organizational guidelines.
Analyze and report coding review results to support business and operational decisions.
Support coding operations, revenue cycle, and change-management initiatives.
Serve as a subject-matter expert and resource for coding staff.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy, security, and applicable federal/state regulations.
Collaborate with business owners and healthcare teams to identify training needs.
Requirements:
Education: Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field, or equivalent experience; bachelor's preferred.
License(s): None
Certification(s): Active certification: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, CIC, or COC.
Years of experience:
5+ years of acute-care coding experience with both inpatient and outpatient facility coding.
Level I Trauma coding experience required.
Experience coding in a teaching hospital required.
Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience required; Epic preferred.
ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS coding and auditing experience required.
Skills/Specialties/Technology:
Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organization, and training skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft products and healthcare applications; experience with 3M, Epic, and PwC SMART preferred.
RHIA/RHIT, Burn coding, CDI, Revenue Cycle, and formal training experience preferred.
