OT Network and Infrastructure Engineer

The OT Network and Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining Operational Technology (OT) networks, infrastructure, cybersecurity technologies, and remote access solutions for both EthosEnergy O&M Remote Operations Center (ROC) and customer power generation facilities.
This position plays a key role in delivering OT Services that improve the reliability, security, and compliance posture of customer environments. The engineer will assist with the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of OT networks, industrial infrastructure systems, cybersecurity controls, and remote access technologies while supporting customers on their journey toward NERC CIP Medium Impact compliance.
The role requires a strong technical foundation in networking, systems administration, virtualization, cybersecurity, and industrial control system environments. The engineer will work closely with internal Subject Matter Experts, ROC personnel, customer operations teams, and third-party vendors to maintain secure and reliable OT environments that support power generation, renewable energy, and battery storage facilities.
This role also serves as a customer-facing technical consulting resource within EthosEnergy OT Services. The OT Network and Infrastructure Engineer will work directly with customer operations, engineering, and management teams to assess site needs, explain technical findings, support remediation planning, and provide practical recommendations that improve OT network reliability, cybersecurity posture, and NERC CIP readiness. The position requires the ability to translate technical issues into clear customer-facing updates, participate in recurring service meetings, support site reporting, and help customers make informed decisions around OT infrastructure, firewall management, remote access, patching, vulnerability management, and compliance improvement activities.
Job Responsibilities
OT Network Administration
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial network infrastructure supporting power generation and critical infrastructure environments.
Administer and support firewalls, routers, switches, wireless systems, and network communication devices.
Configure and maintain Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for secure remote connectivity.
Support network segmentation and security architecture initiatives within OT environments.
Perform network diagnostics and troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve communication issues.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, inventories, and configuration baselines.
Participate in network upgrades, refresh projects, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. OT Infrastructure Administration
Support and maintain Windows Server operating systems and associated infrastructure services.
Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
Support virtualization platforms including VMware ESXi and vCenter environments.
Assist with server deployment, migration, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
Maintain infrastructure backups and support disaster recovery testing activities.
Monitor system health, performance, and availability across customer and ROC environments.
Maintain hardware and software asset inventories. OT Cybersecurity and Compliance
Support implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls within OT environments.
Assist with vulnerability management activities including identification, assessment, remediation tracking, and reporting.
Coordinate operating system and application patch management activities for OT infrastructure.
Support endpoint security deployments and ongoing security monitoring activities.
Review firewall configurations and assist with rule management and security hardening initiatives.
Assist in implementing secure remote access solutions for customer sites and ROC operations.
Support compliance initiatives related to NERC CIP and other applicable industry regulations and standards.
Participate in cybersecurity assessments, audits, compliance reviews, and evidence collection efforts. Customer Support and Service Delivery
Serve as a technical resource supporting customer power generation facilities.
Participate in customer meetings and provide technical updates regarding infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity activities.
Generate routine reports detailing system health, security posture, compliance status, and ongoing remediation efforts.
Coordinate and communicate planned maintenance activities with customers and internal teams.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customer operations, engineering, and management personnel.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers and Subject Matter Experts as required. Project Execution
Assist with implementation of new OT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.
Support site commissioning, infrastructure upgrades, and technology deployment projects.
Participate in technology evaluations and proof-of-concept initiatives.
Develop and maintain engineering documentation, standard operating procedures, and implementation guides.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, cybersecurity posture, and infrastructure reliability.
Support customer initiatives to improve compliance readiness and cybersecurity maturity.

Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
Familiarity with industrial networking and Operational Technology environments.
Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and infrastructure services.
Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
Familiarity with VMware virtualization technologies.
Understanding of cybersecurity concepts including defense-in-depth, least privilege, network segmentation, and secure remote access.
Familiarity with vulnerability management and patch management processes.
Knowledge of industrial control systems including SCADA, DCS, and historian platforms.
Familiarity with AVEVA PI System or similar industrial historian technologies.
Basic understanding of NERC CIP requirements and cybersecurity regulatory frameworks.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and customer-facing communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Desired Qualifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Fortinet NSE4 or equivalent
CompTIA Security+
Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
Experience supporting Fortinet firewalls and secure remote access technologies
Experience with industrial cybersecurity tools and network monitoring platforms
Experience supporting power generation facilities or critical infrastructure environments
Familiarity with NERC CIP compliance programs and audit support activities
Experience
Two (2) to six (6) years of experience in networking, systems administration, infrastructure support, cybersecurity, or Operational Technology environments.
Experience supporting industrial, utility, power generation, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environments is preferred.
Experience working with Microsoft server technologies, network infrastructure, and virtualization platforms is highly desirable.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and industry compliance standards is preferred.
Experience and knowledge in aspects of power plant systems and operations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, military service, certifications, and practical experience may be considered.

Participation in rotating on-call support schedules as business needs require.
