Mechanical Systems Engineer
ONSITE in Berkeley, CA
Domain-Specific Skills
Mechanical and electromechanical system architecture, functional decomposition, and interface management.
Requirements analysis for structures, fluids, thermal systems, sensors, pumps, heaters, and electrical isolation.
Trade studies balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability, and revalidation impact.
Verification and validation planning across subsystems and staged product changes.
Key Responsibilities
Define system and subsystem requirements, boundaries, assumptions, and interfaces.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, thermal, fluids, materials, manufacturing, supplier, and CAE inputs.
Lead system trade studies and document technical rationale, risks, and implementation constraints.
Assess backward compatibility and revalidation impacts of proposed changes.
Develop verification plans, requirement traceability, and phased implementation recommendations.
Required Skills / Experience
5+ years of systems, mechanical systems, product integration, or multidisciplinary design experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
Experience writing requirements, managing interfaces, conducting trade studies, and planning verification.
Ability to communicate across specialized engineering disciplines.
Salary Range: $115,000-$130,000/K
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
