Lead Project Engineer

We are supporting an established engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Design Manager / Senior Engineer to lead the design and technical coordination of large and complex power generation projects.
This is a senior project leadership position responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensuring projects are properly planned and technically executed. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers while taking ownership of the technical design process, cross-discipline coordination, quality and engineering delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day technical activities of multidisciplinary design teams.
Oversee the technical portion of the engineering and design process.
Coordinate engineering activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, structural and other disciplines.
Ensure effective cross-discipline communication and design coordination.
Monitor engineering schedules, deliverables and completion of discipline-level tasks.
Coordinate implementation of project quality control plans.
Identify and communicate technical/design issues to the Project Manager.
Support Project Managers with client engagement and change-management requirements.
Help ensure engineering work is delivered in accordance with project scope, schedule, quality and technical requirements.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
15+ years of relevant power generation design experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain PE within one year.
Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering/design teams.
Experience working on large and/or complex power generation projects.
Experience designing one or more of the following:
Combined-cycle power plants
Simple-cycle power plants
Reciprocating engine power plants
Combined heat and power (CHP) plants
Gas turbine and associated Balance of Plant systems
