About the Opportunity:
The SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER III is responsible for leading and performing comprehensive quality assurance activities throughout the software development lifecycle. This role ensures that software changes are thoroughly validated in non-production environments before release, directly contributing to the reliability and security of ICAM applications. The position supports continuous integration pipelines and federal compliance requirements, making it essential for maintaining release quality and operational integrity.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute quality assurance activities across the SDLC.
Validate application changes in development, test, staging, and other non-production environments.
Develop and maintain automated and manual test cases, scripts, suites, and data.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Maintain testing and quality gates using tools like Selenium, SonarQube, and Jenkins.
Validate functional requirements and user-story acceptance criteria.
Perform and coordinate regression, integration, system, performance, and release testing.
Ensure Section 508 conformance for applicable releases.
Identify defects, document results, and collaborate with engineers on resolutions.
Review security scan and code-quality outcomes for release readiness.
Monitor test coverage and suggest improvements to automated testing.
Support user acceptance testing as required.
Produce test plans, scripts, results, defect evidence, and quality documentation.
Support production incident analysis by validating fixes and regression impacts.
Requirements:
Experience with software quality assurance throughout the SDLC.
Skilled in both automated and structured manual testing.
Proficient in developing and maintaining test documentation.
Experience testing software in non-production environments.
Proficient with Selenium or similar automated testing tools.
Experience with Jenkins or comparable CI/CD tools.
Familiarity with SonarQube or similar code-quality/security tools.
Experience in functional, regression, integration, and release testing.
Ability to validate Section 508 or accessibility compliance.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain DHS EOD and required system access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current DHS Trusted Tester certification.
Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA criteria.
Experience with performance or load testing of enterprise web applications.
Previous federal civilian testing experience.
Experience testing ICAM, IAM, SSO, PIV, PKI, PAM, access management, or cybersecurity applications.
Familiarity with Jira, GitHub Enterprise, Java/Spring, Angular, MySQL, or containerized environments.
Experience supporting automated security, accessibility, and coverage gates in federal DevSecOps pipelines.
