About the Opportunity:
The STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER, DATA SYSTEMS (PYTHON) leads the architecture and technical direction of the data integration and ingestion platform central to the organization's product. This role ensures robust and scalable onboarding of new data sources, defines standards for data reliability and observability, and influences cross-team platform decisions. The position is critical for maintaining the quality and reliability of data systems that underpin the company's success.
Responsibilities:
Own the architecture of the ingestion and integration platform.
Define technical direction for event-driven and batch data processing.
Establish standards for observability, data freshness, and failure handling.
Lead cross-team design efforts with data engineering, infrastructure, and product teams.
Mentor engineers and conduct design reviews to elevate engineering quality.
Identify and address platform challenges proactively.
Requirements:
8+ years of software or data engineering experience with architecture ownership of large-scale ingestion or integration platforms.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery.
Experience designing API-based ETL systems involving REST, GraphQL, webhooks, and multi-tenancy.
Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow and containerized infrastructure such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship skills.
Ability to balance investment in platform durability with delivery speed.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Base salary range $190,000—$220,000 USD, with actual compensation varying by experience, skills, and location.
