About the Opportunity:
The SOFTWARE ENGINEER, SAFETY PROCESSING plays a critical role in developing and maintaining backend systems that enhance the platform's ability to detect and manage harmful content. This role contributes by designing and operating scalable infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective safety solutions, and supporting the overall integrity and security of the user experience.
Responsibilities:
Scale and improve content review and detection capabilities on the platform
Build and maintain production systems operating at large scale
Participate in on-call rotations to support system reliability
Apply adversarial thinking to anticipate security and abuse scenarios
Collaborate with Trust & Safety, Machine Learning, Policy, and product teams to meet requirements
Requirements:
3+ years of professional experience in backend services or infrastructure engineering using Python or similar languages
Experience building and operating distributed systems and production services at scale (e.g., GCP or AWS)
Strong debugging skills and ability to manage complex, multi-service codebases
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional partners
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 to $220,000 plus equity and benefits. Salary within the range depends on skills, experience, and education. Compensation details reflect base salary only and exclude equity and benefits.
