Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering data science solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights and measurable business value.
You will work across the full data science lifecycle, from understanding business problems and exploring data through to developing, validating, deploying and monitoring models in production.
We are looking for someone with 3–5 years of commercial data science experience, combining strong analytical and modelling skills with practical experience of taking models beyond experimentation and into production.
Experience developing scoring or predictive models, particularly using FMCG, retail or consumer behavioural data, would be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Model Development & Deployment
Develop, test and validate statistical, machine learning and predictive models to solve real-world business problems.
Take ownership of solutions from initial exploration and prototyping through to deployment and ongoing monitoring.
Work with engineering and data teams to deploy models into production, considering scalability, maintainability and performance.
Evaluate and monitor model performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Data Analysis & Scoring
Explore large and complex datasets to identify patterns, opportunities and suitable modelling approaches.
Develop scoring and predictive solutions such as propensity, classification, ranking, segmentation or behavioural models.
Turn model outputs into actionable scores, insights or decision-support tools.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Clearly communicate analytical approaches, findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Participate in peer review, knowledge sharing and the continuous development of the Data Science team.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Produce high-quality, maintainable and well-documented code.
Follow appropriate standards for testing, validation, version control and model documentation.
Contribute to improvements in the team's methodologies, tools and ways of working.
Desirable
Experience developing scoring models, including propensity, behavioural, customer, classification or ranking models.
Experience working with FMCG, retail, consumer purchasing or behavioural datasets.
Experience working with large-scale transactional, customer or product-level data.
Experience with cloud-based data and machine learning platforms.
Understanding of MLOps, model monitoring and production model lifecycle management.
