Job Description
Technical Evaluation & Risk Management
Review and approve property valuation reports for Home Loans, LAP, BLAP, Construction Finance, and other secured lending products.
Ensure technical due diligence of collateral properties, including title-linked technical checks, marketability assessment, and risk identification.
Evaluate deviations and provide recommendations in line with company policies, underwriting standards, and risk appetite.
Monitor quality, consistency, and accuracy of valuations conducted by empaneled valuation agencies and technical vendors.
Conduct technical appraisal of residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties as per company guidelines.
Vendor & Panel Management
Manage and monitor empaneled technical agencies, valuation firms, and field engineers across the assigned geography.
Conduct periodic audits, reviews, and performance evaluations of technical vendors.
Ensure timely allocation, execution, and closure of technical cases within defined turnaround times (TATs).
Drive vendor governance and ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Portfolio & Process Governance
Ensure adherence to technical underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Identify process gaps and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and control mechanisms.
Analyze portfolio trends, property market movements, and risk observations to recommend policy enhancements.
Maintain high standards of technical underwriting, property assessment quality, and risk management practices.
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate closely with Business, Credit, Legal, Operations, and Risk teams for effective case resolution and timely decision-making.
Provide technical guidance and support to branch and regional teams on complex property structures and technical queries.
Participate in credit discussions and provide technical recommendations for sanction and underwriting decisions.
Support business growth objectives while maintaining risk discipline and portfolio quality.
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop Technical Officers, Senior Technical Officers, and Technical Managers within the assigned geography.
Monitor productivity, work quality, and performance of team members against defined objectives.
Conduct regular training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives on technical assessment, market practices, and regulatory developments.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Reporting & MIS
Prepare and publish periodic MIS reports covering technical volumes, TAT adherence, vendor performance, valuation quality, deviations, and portfolio trends.
Present market intelligence, technical observations, and portfolio risk insights to regional and zonal leadership teams.
Track key performance indicators and drive corrective actions where required.
Qualification & Experience
Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in Mortgage, Housing Finance, NBFCs, Banking, Property Valuation, Real Estate Consulting, or Technical Assessment roles.
Strong exposure to property valuation, technical due diligence, collateral assessment, and secured lending products.
Prior experience in managing technical vendors, valuation agencies, and geographically distributed teams will be preferred.
Experience in Home Loans, LAP, BLAP, Construction Finance, and other mortgage products is desirable.
